The Vaudois edition
Never says yes or no when “faut voir” will do. Understatement is a sport; enthusiasm is suspicious.
The very stable genius
Original: “….Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart. Crooked Hillary Clinton also played these cards very hard and, as everyone knows, went down in flames. I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Star….. ….to President of the United States (on my first try). I think that would qualify as not smart, but genius….and a very stable genius at that!”
Vaudois, in the original
Bon.
The English adaptation
Well. Some people are saying I’ve lost my marbles. I’m not saying anything, mind you. I’d be better off keeping quiet. But still.
I had a business that did all right, I did a bit of TV, and then I became president on the first go. So, genius… we’ll see. I wouldn’t say genius. I’d say it’s fine. It works.
And stable, too: three glasses of the local white on a vineyard terrace and I’m still standing. Come on, no rush, the lake isn’t on fire. We’ll talk about it later, yeah?
